Why choose the frame before generation?
The generator composes the garment inside the rectangle you picked. If you later crop 9:16 down to 1:1, you cut the headroom or the hem you already paid to generate. Start with the placement you actually have.
9:16
A tall phone frame. This is the ratio of the three public FashionUGC examples. Teams use it for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. YouTube Help currently treats square or vertical uploads up to three minutes as Shorts. We are not repeating unofficial "best length" charts.
Published 9:16 result
Every public FashionUGC example uses this frame.

16:9
Landscape. Useful for a wide product module, a desktop embed or a YouTube long-form cut. Available on Piveth and Astra. A 16:9 file is the usual way to avoid Shorts classification on YouTube, according to YouTube Help.
1:1
Square. Useful when a gallery or feed slot is square. Astra only, in the current generator.
2:3
A taller portrait that is not full-phone 9:16. Some product layouts use this shape. Astra only.
3:2
A wide editorial rectangle, shorter than 16:9 in height relative to width. Astra only. Use it when the placement is already that shape, not because it sounds cinematic.
What happens when you crop after generating?
You lose the edges of the composition. On a dress, that is often the hem or the neckline. Generate the correct frame instead of treating 9:16 as a master for every crop.
Leave space around important product details
Short-form players draw interface on the top and bottom of a 9:16 frame. Keep logos, prints and hems out of those edges if they are the reason for the clip. That is a composition habit, not a platform partnership claim.
Which ratio should an ecommerce seller choose?
Match the surface. A product-page gallery may want square or portrait. A mobile-first theme may accept 9:16. See ecommerce and product listing videos.
Which ratio should a short-form social team choose?
9:16, unless the placement is explicitly square or landscape. Generate once per placement if you need more than one shape.
One product, several ratios
We have not published the same garment in 9:16, 1:1, 16:9, 2:3 and 3:2. That comparison will be added when those files exist. Until then, the honest evidence on this site is three different garments, all generated at 9:16.
